The Friends of the Libraries restart their monthly movie event this Sunday, September 28th at 1:30pm in the Smart Community Room. This month’s movie is Dead Poets’ Society featuring Robin Williams and is free and open to the public.
We hope you will join us for this classic film. You can view the original trailer below:
Are you interested in learning a new jewelry making technique? Tina Souilliard of Beads of a Feather will be teaching a class at the Sidney Library on Tuesday, Sept. 23 at 6:30pm. Participants will learn how to make a crystal clay necklace using a bezel setting – you can see jewelry samples in the display case by our circulation desk. There is a materials fee of $10 for this course.
Please note that registration is required – you can do so online, call us at 563-1200, or stop by the circulation desk. Adults and adult/child (age 9+) combinations are welcome.
Have you stopped into our Smart Community Room during the month of September? This month’s art exhibit features local photographer Amy Nordberg, owner of SetMeFree Photo Art. Her artwork, which highlights nature and does not rely on digital editing, will be viewable whenever the library is open.
Do you have preschool or school-age children who enjoy playing with Legos? Join Sidney Library staff member Linda for a new program called Lego Time, which will be held Wednesday Sept. 17th at 4:00pm. We will have Legos available to create with and may have a challenge or two, just for fun.
Join the Friends of the Libraries at their upcoming book discussion group meeting on Tuesday September 16th at 11:30am. The book, Caleb’s Crossing, is a historical fiction novel set in the 1660’s. New participants are always welcome and can get a copy of the book by requesting it at the Sidney Library’s circulation desk.
