Through the end of June, come and view the wonderful work of Hope Thurlby. Ms. Thurlby’s watercolors are on display in our Smart Community Room anytime the library is open. Her experience in viking archaeology and working at several museums has influenced her work. We hope you will stop by!

Library Closing 5/30

In observance of Memorial Day, the Sidney Memorial Public Library and branches will be closed on Monday, May 30th, 2016. We will resume normal hours on Tuesday.

Library Budget Vote 5/17

Sidney residents, please note: the 2016-2017 Sidney Memorial Public Library budget will be put to a vote on Tuesday, May 17th 2016. We encourage you to cast your vote!

Voting takes place at the Sidney High School. According to the Sidney CSD website, polls will be open from 7:00am – 8:00pm.

Facebook Class 5/19

Would you like to make sure your Facebook is secure? We are hosting a computer class called Keeping Your Facebook Safe , where we will review privacy settings and make sure you are only sharing with the right people. Elder Law Workshop 5/19

Do you have an aging parent or elderly loved one, and have questions about things like wills, trusts, health care proxies, and end of life decisions? Join us for a free workshop hosted by Ms. Beth Westfall, an attorney. The workshop will be held on Thursday, May 19th 2016 at 6:30pm in our Smart Community Room. It is free to the public and questions are encouraged.

The Friends of the Libraries will host their monthly book club meeting on Tuesday, May 17th at 11:30am. All are welcome to attend. This month’s book is Zeitoun by Dave Eggers. Copies of the book are usually available at our main desk.

Plant Diseases Presentation 5/9

The Sidney Library will welcome Mr. Tony Antes on Monday, May 9th 2016 at 6:30pm. Mr. Antes will present on plant diseases and ways to keep your garden healthy this summer. He has experience with Cornell Cooperative Extension and is very knowledgeable on gardening. This presentation is free to the public. We hope you will join us!
