Carl Higgs of Bainbridge will be displaying his photography in the Fred and Irene Smart Community Room for the months of September and October. His photography is taken in Guilford and focuses on nature. As well as the photography, all the frames are made by Mr. Higgs. Stop in during regular library hours and enjoy the show!
Through the end of June, nature photographer Rick Bunting will have his exhibit Florida Favorites on display in our Smart Community Room. Mr. Bunting is known for his passions for music and birds, and this photography exhibit will highlight some of his best bird photographs. Mr. Bunting is a well-known member of the Delaware-Otsego Audubon Society and has exhibited his artwork in both New York and Florida.
Make sure to stop in to our Smart Community Room before the end of February to see artist Carl Houghton’s paintings. There are a variety of rural landscapes and still life acrylic paintings on display. Mr. Houghton, a New Berlin resident, has exhibited widely over the years and has won several awards for his work.
The artwork of father-daughter duo Ben Shaw and Maria Newell will be on display for the months through December. Ben’s work focuses on old barns and covered bridges, while Maria’s work highlights her time spent in Kenya. Between the two artists, a variety of styles, subject matter, and media will be on display. Come see the work in our Smart Community Room anytime the library is open.
Have you seen the wood carvings by local artisan Dennis Heath? Our front entryway’s display cases house several of Heath’s works. There are a variety of beautifully carved animals to see.
Come see the artwork of local artist Joanne Osterhout in the Sidney Library’s Smart Community Room. Ms. Osterhout and her husband Warren live in Bainbridge and founded Dust Bunny Frames. Her photography is displayed in their handmade frames, built from recycled barn wood.
This artwork is on display through October, and can be viewed anytime the library is open.

Through the end of June, come and view the wonderful work of Hope Thurlby. Ms. Thurlby’s watercolors are on display in our Smart Community Room anytime the library is open. Her experience in viking archaeology and working at several museums has influenced her work. We hope you will stop by!
